Scoring & Rules 2019/20

The aim is very simple: Guess the score, attendance and first Hereford goal scorer for each Hereford game.
Note: An Alternative (reserve) first Hereford goal scorer can also be submitted. See rules- Alternative (Reserve) Hereford Goal Scorer.

Scoring.
Scoring is as follows:
Also see example below.

·             Correct score-line (score & result) – 8 points *
·             Correct number of HFC goals - 1 point
·             Correct Result (W,L,D) – 3 points
·             Closest attendance - 4 points
·             Guess 25 either way of the attendance - 4 points *3
·             Guess 50 either way of the attendance - 3 points *3
·             Guess 150 either way of the attendance - 1 point *3
·             Predict First Hereford goal scorer – 5 Points *1
·             Selected first goal scorer scores any Hereford goal – 2 Points *2

* This is the combined sum of correct result plus correct HFC goals multiplied by 2.
(3 + 1) x 2 = 8
*1 Includes no goal scorer and own goal.
*2 Excludes no goal scorer.
*3 Note: Points are only awarded being within one range. e.g. Predicting within 50 awards 3 points. A point is not awarded for also being within 150.

For cup games, the points are determined on the score after 90 minutes.

Bonus Point Matches.
Double points will be awarded for cup matches and the final league games of each month, with the possible exception of April. See End of Season Games.
Triple Points will be awarded if the last game of the month is a cup game.

End of Season Games.
These will be assigned Double and Triple points matches at the discretion of the BNPL organiser.
As of 24th July 2019 these are:
18th April 2019: Hereford v Blyth: Double Points
25th April 2019: Boston v Hereford: Triple Points

Double / Triple Points Match Postponements.
In the event of a bonus points match being postponed / abandoned after the previous match has been played then the rescheduled match will still carry the double / triple points.

RULES
Submitting an Entry
·             One entry per username per email address (unless specifically stated that more than one person is using the same email address e.g. family members).
·             Predictions cannot be amended after first submission. *See Postponements/ Abandoned Matches.
·             Try to ensure that your entry is clear for which result you are predicting.
·             You may predict for more than one game at a time should you so wish.
·             Entries to be submitted, by email, no later than 5 minutes before scheduled kick off time.
·             Entries can also be submitted via messenger, text, in writing and in person to BanburyBull no later than 5 minutes before scheduled kick off time.

Changing A Prediction.
With the exception of postponements / abandoned matches, changes to a submitted prediction are not allowed.

Postponements / Abandoned Matches.
Predictions for the rearranged match can be submitted as normal. If a new prediction is not submitted then the original prediction will be deemed valid.

Alternative (Reserve) Hereford Goal Scorer.
A second Hereford goal scorer can be submitted. This selection will automatically replace the first choice scorer when the first selection is not in the starting eleven or on the bench.

Ambiguity
In the event that the details of the submitted prediction not clearly stated then interpretation is at the discretion of the the organiser. Some examples being;
1-0: will assume an home win regardless of whether HFC are home or away.
Fortunately I cannot see any similarities / ambiguity with players at present.
